Tomorrow Is Today

Today is when you’d say tomorrow. This is a thought that has recently come to mind. Do you ever find yourself saying you’ll do something tomorrow and end up not doing it at all because time slips away? I know it’s not possible to do everything in a day, but it’s important to remember there are only so many tomorrows.

As silly (and simple) as it sounds, I’ve been wanting to sit out on our balcony to relax and write and I kept telling myself I’d do it tomorrow. Finally, today it hit me that’s it’s tomorrow. So, I grabbed some coffee, a blanket, my computer and wrote outside. It was a simple action that made me realize I have to make time to do the things I want to do.

I already know that in Milwaukee, I want to go with Nic to the art museum and on a boat ride. I also want us to drive around in December and take in all of the holiday lights in the city with a cup of hot cocoa, a cozy scarf and fuzzy socks. I’m writing these things down because I don’t want to look back in February and think to myself that I wish I did those things. Life does get busy and you can’t always do everything you want, but you also need to make time to do what you want and what you love. Whether that’s writing, running, painting or singing, make time for it.

If you find yourself constantly putting something off to tomorrow, rethink it. Can you do it today? Will it make you happy if you do it? If so, then do it. It’s important to remember that today IS tomorrow. Don’t forget to enjoy life and do the things you love.
