Getting Ready To Race

Happy Friday! Instead of the usual Friday Favorites, I wanted to focus on getting ready for my half marathon THIS SUNDAY. This Sunday? YES. This Sunday! I love that I have been able to share my training and journey with you all.

So, this Sunday is race day! As you all know, I have been training for months. A few weeks ago when I ran 11.54 miles, my knees were in terrible pain the next day. I could hardly walk! So, I took a week and half break from running. Then, after I wrote Rainy Day Runs, my knee began to hurt again. I got really worried that something was wrong. So, I took more time off from running and let it heal. I began to do A LOT of stretches and kept icing and resting it. Last week and this week I went running, and I didn’t have any knee pain after. YAY!

I was so afraid that I wasn’t going to be able to run my half marathon because of knee. Luckily, my knee has healed and I am SO ready to run. This is such a HUGE goal of mine and I am beyond excited to achieve it. Accomplishing goals is an incredible feeling, isn’t it?

So, what am I doing to prepare for the big race? For one, I am carb loading! Lots and lots of carbs. I am also mentally preparing. Mind over matter is SO important and that is something I have learned throughout my training process. If you think you can’t do something, chances are you can’t. If you think you can? Then you will.
