5 Ways To Have A Better Day

It’s a good day to have a good day, right?

Sometimes, it’s hard to have a good day. Whether it’s a hectic schedule, a gloomy day or just overall stress, it can be hard to find that ray of sunshine. However, I have come up with 5 ways that can help you have a better day.

1. Do something for someone

As Audrey Hepburn said, “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.” This couldn’t be more accurate. Doing something for someone else will not only fill your heart with joy, it will fill their day with love. It doesn’t have to be anything big. When you do something for someone else, you are impacting their day in a way they won’t soon forget. Making someone else smile and helping someone is a major joy in life. Not only does it make them happy, it makes you happy knowing you impacted someone in a positive way, no matter how small the gesture.

2. Slow down (and breathe)

Slow down! Trust me, I know it’s easier said than done. Work, tight schedules, projects and  life’s road bumps  make it hard to find time to slow down. However, you need to find and make that time. You don’t have to change your whole day and your routine, but by doing some breathing and relaxing, it makes a huge difference. Sometimes, when I get stressed, sitting down and breathing works wonders. Writing blogs is one way I slow down and take time out of my hectic schedule. Are you making time to slow down?

3. Smile more

It feels good to smile, it really does. Sometimes, you can get so caught up in your schedule that you forget to smile. When you’re at work, smile at someone and tell them good morning. When you’re grabbing a cup of coffee, smile at the person next to you. It will make you feel good and it will also make someone else feel good. It’s a win win.

4. Speak positive words

It’s easy to get caught up in negativity. Today, change that up! Next time you are about to say something negative, say something positive instead. By speaking positive words, it makes YOU feel more positive. Try it.

5. Compliment someone 

When is the last time to complimented someone? Was it today, yesterday, a week ago? It feels good to get a compliment from someone. However, it also feels GREAT to give someone else a compliment.

By adding these positive elements to your day, you will make your day that much better and brighter. Small changes create big outcomes.
