A Look At 2016

Happy New Year’s Eve! Can you believe 2016 is over? I sure can’t. I feel like it was just yesterday we were welcoming in the new year. Today, Nic and I are celebrating the new year at our friend’s wedding, who also happen to be fellow bloggers of He Coffee She Tea (if you haven’t heard of them, check them out)! We are so excited!

As I look back on this year, a lot of things come to my mind. It’s very to sum up a year when so much as happened. However, one thing that sticks out to me about this year is growth. This was BY FAR a year of growth. I started the year finishing my senior year of college, applying to graduate school in a new city and moving to Milwaukee with Nic. Major life steps, wouldn’t you say? Another area of personal growth was my  first half marathon. Running a half marathon was something I have wanted to do since I was a kid. There was something about running 13.1 miles and crossing a finish line that made my heart flutter. But, I never thought I could do it. Well, this year, I changed my mindset. I signed up for the Chicago Half Marathon and began to train. And guess what? I did it. Looking back, that was a huge sign of personal growth and I am so proud. All of these situations made me realize how quickly like goes by and how quickly one can grow.

Another thing that sticks out to me about this year is my blog! I started Casually Christiana in July. Can you believe it? January will be Casually Christiana’s 6 month birthday! Starting this blog has been an incredible journey that has brought me so many emotions. I love sharing my thoughts, advice and life lessons with all of my incredible readers, and I also love connecting with other bloggers and reading their thoughts. Creating this blog and sharing it with everyone has be so fulfilling. So, thank YOU for coming back and reading what I have to say and following me in my journey through life.

Lastly, another thing that sticks out to me about this year is confidence. This word applies to many things… applying to graduate school, moving to Milwaukee, starting Casually Christiana, running my first half marathon and simply believing in myself. Confidence doesn’t come in a day and it absolutely takes time.

2016 was an incredible year, and I am ready to ring in 2017. Who knows what’s in store? All I can say is I can’t wait for new adventures to begin.

Happy New Year’s, everyone!
