Springtime is a beautiful time to be outdoors, enjoy the colorful flowers and soak in the sunshine. Springtime is also a great time to update your reading list with some new and fresh reads! This spring (and summer), I have a number of books I am starting to read, and they are all different from one another – which I love. If you’re looking to add some ideas to your spring reading list or want to make one for yourself, here are some recommendations for you!
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
To quote the lady from Barnes & Noble who helped me find this book, “I wish I could read this book for the first time again.” I started this book a few weeks ago, but grad school got pretty hectic and I couldn’t find time to finish it. Now that everything is slowly winding down, I am able to start reading it again. I have to say, this book is enchanting and magical – two amazing characteristics in a book. I already understand what that kind lady at Barnes & Noble meant, and I’m not even halfway through it yet.
Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly
I am super excited to start reading this one. Lilac Girls is based on a real-life story that takes place in the 1930’s. This book follows the lives of three women and their journeys. It’s a book that takes place in history and focuses on three strong woman. I cannot wait to start this book, I can already tell how inspriational and eye-opening it will be.
We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter
This is another book that takes place in history, around WWII, and is based off a true story. There are many themes in this book and many moments that I know will be eye-opening. I think it’s so important to learn about history and the importance of what happened in our past. I have a feeling once I start this book, I won’t be able to put it down.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
If you don’t know this about me, I love the elderly. My grandparents and I are the best of friends and I love spending time with them (especially my adorable grandpa). So, it’s no surprise why this book is one I’m ready to read. It’s about a grumpy old man and how his life changes when new neighbors move in next door – has your heart melted yet? Ok, just the plot immediately got me hooked. This is a book that is perfect for me – I KNOW I will love it.
I am so excited to read these great books. I hope you add some of these to your reading list, too! What is on your spring reading list? What are reading now? Let me know, I would love to hear from you!
Have a great day everyone! Talk to you soon!
