Cherry Blossoms: A Tradition

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great and relaxing weekend. Mine was great – we saw friends, explored and took photos of cherry blossoms in the county, had dinner with our wonderful neighbors (hi Ann and Mike!) and my parents and Nic and I went out to our favorite coffee shop on Sunday morning. If you’re curious, Cafe Miel’s are my current favorite drink. 🙂 It was a much needed weekend filled with fun and R&R, and we finally caught up on some sleep.

It has become a tradition that every year we go to a cherry orchard and take photos of the cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms leave as quickly as they come – so you need to enjoy them while you can (a good life lesson in enjoying the beauty in every single day). They are one of the most beautiful sites and it feels like a dream when you walk down the rows of cherry trees and get mesmerized in the beautiful blossoms.

Over the years, I have come to loving this tradition more and more. Not only do I love walking in the orchard and snapping beautiful photos, but I love how such a simple activity means so much. It constantly reminds me to enjoy the simple things in life and to enjoy your surroundings. It also reminds me to take time out of your busy schedule to enjoy the simple and little things in life, like cherry blossoms.

So, start off this week with a fresh mindset about the beauty of simplicity. Heck, make time in your busy schedule this week to go for a walk and soak in the sun and your surroundings – it’s always worth it.

Have a great day, everyone! Talk to you soon.
