We’re Engaged! – 11.21.18

WE’RE ENGAGED! I still have butterflies writing these words, and we’ve been engaged for over a month. I’ve been taking in every beautiful moment of our engagement since it happened, and I am so excited to share the story with you all!

Nic and I had planned to do the Road to Hana since we booked our tickets to Maui. It was something we wanted to do together and started planning early on. We were doing research on all of the must see sites (blog on that coming soon), apps to use, stops to make, waterfalls to see, food to eat… you name it! After months and months of planning and anticipating the trip, it finally came!

We started early, getting up at 5:30AM to get ready for the day. We left early and were well on our way by 6:00AM. And let me tell you… the Road Hana was STUNNING. It was like walking back in time in Maui, where all of the nature and beauty was preserved the way it was intended to be. The air was clean, the trees green and the ocean was a stunning color as the sun sparkled off the waves. It was honestly a dream.

The day before, Nic said he wanted to take a collage of photos of me from behind, looking into the distance at various location on the Road to Hana. I thought this was such a cool idea, and I was all for it. As we were following our tour on our phone, Nic decided to pull off to a secluded town to go look at the ocean. We drove down a little road, passed a few adorable houses and got to a tiny gravel parking lot. As we walked towards the beach, we crossed a bridge that was very, very questionable, but also walked past waterfalls and secluded forests.

When we got to the oceanside in the small town of Nahiku, my breathe was immediately taken away. I can’t even put into words how beautiful it was. If you could close your eyes and imagine yourself at your ultimate calmest and happiest, that’s what this spot made me feel.

As I was walking around this cliff overlooking the ocean, Nic told me to come over by him for a picture. He told me to turn around and look into the distance. Once he took the photo, I turned around, and he was on one knee. His smile made my heart melt and in that moment, I was at my happiest. It felt like the world was smiling down on the both of us, and I saw my future and my forever right in front of me.

I still dream about this day every single day. I dream in the day, and I dream at night. But the best part is that I get to marry my best friend, my soulmate and my other half. This love is the best feeling in the world, and my smile from this day will never, ever fade.

I can’t wait to continue to share our wedding journey with you all… after all, we are getting MARRIED THIS YEAR! This story is one that will forever keep me on cloud 9… and the future has so much more to hold.

I hope you are all having a great start to the new year.

Talk to you soon!

♥Christiana
