I can’t believe the last time I blogged was a month before the big day, and here we are a little over 2 months later, MARRIED! We got married on September 28, 2019 in Egg Harbor, WI on the most beautiful fall day. The days leading up to our wedding were cold, cloudy and rainy. I kept checking the weather forecast like clock work, and it kept saying it was supposed to rain on our wedding day. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have minor freak outs. Quick tip here – people will tell you not to check the weather forecast before your big day. I’m going to respectfully disagree and revise that tip… check the weather forecast but don’t let it ruin your mood! If it says rain, buy some blue rain boots and clear umbrellas and be prepared for anything! You can’t control the weather, but you can control your perspective. That’s what we did. It was supposed to rain on our wedding day, so I bought baby blue rain boots, clear umbrellas and looked up tons of rainy wedding photo ideas. With all that being said, our wedding day was the ONE DAY of that week that was sunny and 60 degrees without a cloud in the sky. Let me tell ya, it was perfect, and even that is an understatement. BUT – it would have been just as perfect no matter what the forecast was, because life is what you make of it, and the most important thing was getting to marry my best friend.
Our wedding day was filled with smiles, happy tears, memories, kisses, hand squeezes and laughter. It was a dream in every single way, and we were blessed with incredible family, friends, weather, amazing vendors… you name it. I will always remember seeing Nic’s sweet smile as I walked down the aisle, his face when he first saw me during our first look, saying I Do, sneaking kisses throughout the whole day, dancing the night away… the list goes on and on. Our wedding was a dream that we will relive it every single day.
After we got married, we traveled to Sonoma and San Francisco for our mini honeymoon. The trip was beautiful. We went wine tasting in wine country, explored San Francisco, walked through the Wharf, ate some of the most delicious seafood, and made even more memories. During this trip, we made a promise to each other, and that was a promise to always remember the feeling we had in that very moment, to stay on Cloud 9 and to stay newlyweds forever. While life gets tough and isn’t always easy, one thing we will always remember is the feeling we had from our wedding and honeymoon and the love that filled our hearts. We will never let that special one-of-a-kind feeling escape us.
We have been married for a little over two months, and we’re well on our way of being newlyweds forever. So, here’s to love, marriage, Could 9 and happiness. In 30 years, we will still remember the feeling we have today. In 50 years, we will still be newlyweds.
I’m excited to continue sharing our wedding and marriage journey with you all.
