    Valentine’s Day Reminders

It’s Valentine’s Day, a day I truly love. I love reminding people how much I love them and hearing it in return. As Nic brought up today, this is our first and last Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple… next year at this time we’ll be married! It’s crazy to think how time flies and where you’ll be a year from this exact moment. This Valentine’s Day, my heart is bursting with excitement for the year to come. I get to marry my best friend and say I Do in the town where we met almost 5 years ago. I am so lucky to be living life with someone I…

The beautiful holiday season is upon us. For those of you who have been following my blog for awhile, you know that I LOVE Christmas. Everything about the holiday make me so happy. I also love Thanksgiving, but Christmas is where it’s at. With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, though they’re filled with tons of love and excitement, they can also be stressful. No worries, my friends. I’m here to offer you some advice to make them less stressful and more relaxing and fun. Because that’s what the holidays are all about, sometimes we just need little reminders.   1. Budget Don’t forget to budget. It’s REALLY easy to…

  • Don’t Let The World Change You

Have any of you ever been in a great mood and then one person just acted really rudely to you and it changed your whole mood? Maybe someone honked at you because you didn’t hit the gas pedal the EXACT second the light turned green, or someone yelled at you because you weren’t walking fast enough for them. Or, maybe someone yelled at you because you were walking behind them and they didn’t like how close you were to them. That situation happened to me the other day. I was having a really nice day and decided to go for a run along the lake. It was a gorgeous day…

  • Three Things You NEED To Remember During the Holidays

Christmas is only a few days away and I can’t believe it. Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I would keep our Christmas tree up all year if I could (not kidding). I love everything about Christmas time, from the decorations, to the traditions, to seeing loved ones and the warm feeling that fills the air. It’s easy to get caught up in the hectic nature of the holidays. Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts, getting those great sale items and so on. I get it, we’ve all been there. Heck, last week, a lady rammed her shopping cart into me on purpose because I wasn’t moving quick enough for her –…

  • Lessons and Tips From a Year of Blogging

Happy birthday to Casually Christiana! This summer, Casually Christiana turned one! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT (writing it in capital letters expresses my excitement). Starting Casually Christiana was an incredible decision and I have LOVED working on my blog since day one. I’ve learned so much, connected with so many wonderful bloggers and have the BEST followers and readers I could ask for (yes, I’m talking to you). In this one year of blogging, I have learned many lessons, written many blogs, found my blogging niche and so much more. Today, I wanted to highlight some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned this year, along with some tips I’ve found to…

  • Cherry Blossoms: A Tradition

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great and relaxing weekend. Mine was great – we saw friends, explored and took photos of cherry blossoms in the county, had dinner with our wonderful neighbors (hi Ann and Mike!) and my parents and Nic and I went out to our favorite coffee shop on Sunday morning. If you’re curious, Cafe Miel’s are my current favorite drink. 🙂 It was a much needed weekend filled with fun and R&R, and we finally caught up on some sleep. It has become a tradition that every year we go to a cherry orchard and take photos of the cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms leave as quickly as…

  • A Lesson From Pie Crust

Hey, hey! I hope you’re all having a good morning so far. Today’s blog did NOT turn out as I had originally planned. I wanted to write a blog on how to make a lattice pie top (I’ve done it a million time before) but this was my first time making homemade pie crust. Needless to say, it did not turn out as planned. So, I made the pie crust and I followed the directions to the T. I was so excited to write a post about a lattice top and I had the vision all set in my head. Everything was going according to plan when I started to lay…

  • Individuality

Individuality. I feel like that word is more like a sentence. Let’s face it, sometimes it can be hard to be yourself. Maybe you feel like your jokes aren’t funny enough, your stories aren’t exciting or you don’t fit a type that you “think” you should fit. This is what I refer to as toxic thinking. These are thoughts that you should throw out of your mind immediately and not let them come back. Ever. This is where the concept of individuality comes into play. I love the fact that everyone is so unique. It can be hard to be yourself, and sometimes, it takes time to grow and bloom into who…

  • Looking Up

It is freezing outside and the roads are covered in ice, but that didn’t stop me from venturing outside. I love the outdoors, so I do my best to go outside, even if the air hurts my face. Today, I went for a walk and it was so beautiful and relaxing. The weather conditions were not ideal, but I wanted to go for a walk regardless. As I began my walk, I looked at the frosted trees, the icy road and the gentle snowflakes that were falling from the sky. I kept walking and got to the frozen lake, where the air was really hurting my face now (but I pretended it didn’t bother…

  • A Look At 2016

Happy New Year’s Eve! Can you believe 2016 is over? I sure can’t. I feel like it was just yesterday we were welcoming in the new year. Today, Nic and I are celebrating the new year at our friend’s wedding, who also happen to be fellow bloggers of He Coffee She Tea (if you haven’t heard of them, check them out)! We are so excited! As I look back on this year, a lot of things come to my mind. It’s very to sum up a year when so much as happened. However, one thing that sticks out to me about this year is growth. This was BY FAR a year of growth.…
