• Cocktail Cruise + City Views

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week and are ready for the weekend! I don’t know about you, but I am ALWAYS ready for the weekend. Who’s with me?! Yesterday, my friend Kayley and I decided to go on a happy hour cruise with the Milwaukee Boat Line– and what a wonderful idea that was. The cruise was 90 minutes and it was absolutely AMAZING. (After the cruise, I told Nic we HAD to add this cruise to our bucket list of things to do together this summer (we added going to a movie in the park the other day, too) and he was beyond excited. The…

  • Milwaukee Air Show

Today, Nic and I were able to shake off those Sunday scaries by enjoying the beautiful Milwaukee Air Show… from our balcony! This was the first year we were here for it, so we were SO excited to watch it! There were people on their balconies, camped out on the sidewalk, some sitting on roofs and others packed at the beach. It was a pretty cool site in itself. As we were watching the show in awe and excitement (I actually jumped up and down in excitement as I saw the first plane), Nic had the brilliant idea to grab our camera – and what an amazing idea that was!…

  • Photoshoots and Exploration

Happy February! Can you believe it’s already a new month?! I love blogging (no surprise there) and I am always working on making Casually Christiana the best it can be. This last weekend, I took my blog a step higher and had a photoshoot with one of my best friends, Hannah. She has quite an artistic eye and I was beyond excited to get started on photos. On Sunday, we drove around Milwaukee to find the perfect spot for photos. One thing I love about this city is that there is so much beauty in hidden places. We drove down to a quieter area of the city where there is old architecture, bright…

  • Success and Hard Work

Today, I wanted to write a post about how proud I am of Nic and how hard work, long nights and long days pay off. Success isn’t easy and it doesn’t happen overnight. I always knew that, but I’ve been reminded of it with a recent project of Nic’s. Nic works for MainStage Theatrical Supply and their entire office works incredibly hard year round. One of the recent projects Nic and MainStage worked on was the Milwaukee Gas Light Building. What most people saw was the light show happen this last week and the beautiful display that was truly a site for anyone in the city or watching it on the news. What…

  • Exploring Milwaukee

I can’t believe Nic and I have already been in Milwaukee for a little over two months now. Time has been going by so quickly but we are enjoying every minute of it. We live near the lake, so we are so lucky for the beautiful views we get to see on a regular basis. Walking near the lake and enjoying the views will never get old. The fall colors are absolutely stunning and we are trying to soak in every minute of the fall beauty. Last night, we went to Screaming Tuna and we were beyond impressed (and stuffed). The Sunday special was half off sushi and $3 beers so that was an offer…

  • Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, all! What a week it has been and I am SO happy it’s the weekend! Here are a few of my Friday Favorites! Mimma’s Cafe Looking for delicious, authentic Italian food with a side of exceptional service (and amazing wine)? Your answer is Mimma’s Cafe in Milwaukee. This restaurant is located on Brady Street and is SO cozy. We actually had Mimma cooking when we went and the food was incredible. We were SO impressed. I am already excited to go back again! Sully I don’t go to the movies often, but Sully was a movie I REALLY wanted to see. Let me tell you, it was AMAZING. My…

  • Rainy Day Runs

It has been rather rainy in Milwaukee lately. Sunny, but also rainy. The rain has been great though, because it helps me study. Something about watching the rain from my window as I’m reading or working on my homework makes it a little easier to focus. Today, my good friend Hannah and I had planned to go on a run together. This was the perfect break from studying. Let me tell you, my time has been consumed with reading. I love reading and school, but you need breaks in between.  This morning, instead of the sunny and blue skies I was intending to wake up to, it was cloudy and…

  • Make It A September To Remember

Happy September! Can you believe it’s already a new month? I always love the beginning of a new month. It always feels like a fresh start with new goals and adventures. Why limit resolutions to a year when you can have monthly resolutions?! As you could have guessed, fall is my FAVORITE season and it’s 21 days away (who’s counting though). I’ve been pretty busy on Pinterest lately, finding fall pins and getting so many ideas for the crisp, cool weather.  Leaves are already changing colors and I am beyond excited. September isn’t only a month to remember because fall is arriving, but there are a few other reasons. First, it’s half marathon…

  • Tomorrow Is Today

Today is when you’d say tomorrow. This is a thought that has recently come to mind. Do you ever find yourself saying you’ll do something tomorrow and end up not doing it at all because time slips away? I know it’s not possible to do everything in a day, but it’s important to remember there are only so many tomorrows. As silly (and simple) as it sounds, I’ve been wanting to sit out on our balcony to relax and write and I kept telling myself I’d do it tomorrow. Finally, today it hit me that’s it’s tomorrow. So, I grabbed some coffee, a blanket, my computer and wrote outside. It was a simple action that…

  • Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! What a week it has been. This busy week has been full of adventure and new settings, so let’s jump right in to my Friday Favorites! Simplicity (with the help of Menards) Remodeling and decorating the condo has given me many ideas about simple changes that make a huge difference. Our cabinets are white and they all seemed to blend together. Not only that, but they were also very difficult to open. So, my mom found black knobs at Menards that literally changed the whole look of the kitchen! I couldn’t believe how such a small change made the room look entirely different. Exploring This week, a favorite of…
